The Golden State is ready for your travel dreams to become a reality! May is California Tourism Month, and we’re ready to celebrate a return to travel, a return to memory-making.

Why California

From summits to surf, California offers options for every type of traveler. However, its diverse topography isn’t the only reason to visit. A visit to Anaheim and California assists in positioning California for a speedy recovery from the economic struggles brought on by the Covid-19 pandemic. State officials have shared the good news that California is among the best-performing states in Covid-19 case counts and also vaccination rates. Long-term health precautions have been put in place to allow visitors to feel safer and more confident than ever when visiting. The state also announced plans to ease most restrictions by June 15th, making summer the perfect time to visit.

The Power of Travel

The travel and hospitality industry was hit hard by the pandemic. The first five months of lockdown translated into nearly a million jobs lost. Industries, including the restaurant segment, need us to help rebuild from the ground up. California rebounded two years faster than the rest of the nation’s economy during the Great Depression, and through the power of travel, we’re ready to do that again.

Your visit to Anaheim has a direct and positive impact on the recovery of our communities. Here are just a few ideas of the feel-good fun that awaits you during your Anaheim-cation.

Plan Your Visit to Anaheim Disneyland Resort

Plan a trip powered by pixie dust. Both Disneyland and Disney California Adventure Parks are open to California residents (both theme park ticket and reservation required). A Disney day combines nostalgia with something new around every corner. Enjoy new attractions like WEB-SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure, part of Avengers Campus opening June 4th, and the reimagined Snow White’s Enchanted Wish. Take advantage of mobile ordering so you can Dole Whip on the run as you race to the edge of the galaxy to ride Rise of the Resistance. Make it a day fit for royalty by holding court with your favorite Disney princess and other characters, greeting guests and smiling for photo ops at a safe distance.

Downtown Disney District

The fun and fanfare extend into the open-air retail and dining district at Downtown Disney. Call upon your inner Jedi at the new Star Wars Trading Post and build a new empire at the LEGO Store. You’ll make it a sweet visit with a CrazyShake from Black Tap Craft Burgers & Shakes or a scoop of handcrafted ice cream from Salt & Straw. Bring home the magic with strolls through the expansive World of Disney store.

Angel Stadium

Hey, batter, batter! We’re ready for some baseball at Angels Stadium. Sports fans can enjoy a pre-game meal within walking distance at restaurants and breweries like Golden Road.

Dish on Dining Options

Fueling the fun in Anaheim couldn’t be easier with eclectic eateries in the Anaheim Packing District. Looking to turn your trip into a beer-cation? We’ve got an expansive craft beer scene with the La Palma Trail and many local breweries around town.

Welcome to the Neighborhood

Every trip to town means there’s something new to explore. We’re excited to welcome ocV!BE, mixed-use development near the Honda Center, in 2024. A new concert venue, two hotels, a park and community amenities will be included in the 95-acre center. Another home run in town will be the expansion of Angels Stadium to include additional living, retail, commercial and entertainment offerings. The expanded Platinum Triangle area will become another landmark destination in Anaheim. Also making a splash near town is a new Wild Rivers waterpark to be located in Irvine’s Great Park.

The Golden State continues to shine, despite tourism setbacks. You’re supporting the state’s economic recovery and showing your state pride when you travel to California and to Anaheim.

We can’t wait to see you in Anaheim!
