Complexions Contemporary Ballet
Hailed as “game changing” by London’s The Guardian and a “matchless American dance company” by the Philadelphia Inquirer , Complexions transcends dance tradition through a groundbreaking approach to the art. Founded in 1994 by master Choreographer Dwight Rhoden and the legendary dancer Desmond Richardson, Complexions blends methods, styles and cultures by fusing classical and contemporary ballet, hip-hop, jazz, and modern techniques, resulting in a continually evolving form of dance that reflects the movement of our world – and all its cultures – as an interrelated whole. The company has performed at every major venue and many festivals through the United States and across the globe. This year in its 30 th Anniversary, Complexions will perform FOR CRYING OUT LOUD, a brand-new work featuring the music of U2. In this raw and unfiltered piece choreographed by Dwight Rhoden, 16 dancers move as one to share the vibrancy of stories told by the music and lyrics from “Songs of Surrender,” U2’s latest release. The performance is both moving and uplifting, leaving the audience with a sense of hope for what’s to come.

Belew/Vai/Levin/Carey play 80s King Crimson Former King Crimson members ADRIAN BELEW and TONY LEVIN band together with guitar virtuoso STEVE VAI and explosive Tool drummer DANNY CAREY for the first time to create BEAT, a creative reinterpretation of the three iconic 80s KING CRIMSON albums - Discipline, Beat, and Three Of A Perfect Pair. They will come together this fall for an extensive tour across North America performing repertoire from these three King Crimson iconic albums. The BEAT Tour begins September 12 at San Jose Civic and also includes a stop at City National Grove of Anaheim, September 15, as well as many others. The final show planned for November 8 at Las Vegas, NV’s The Theater at Virgin Hotels. On September 15th Segerstrom Center for the Arts presents Classic Albums Live performing Fleetwood Mac's Rumours in the Renée and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall. Founded in 2003 by Craig Martin, Classic Albums Live has become the ultimate destination for music lovers wanting to hear the greatest albums performed live.
