Anaheim Convention Center to Host the Volleyball Nations League Tournament from
July 4 – 9, 2023

Anaheim, CA (June 29, 2023) – The Orange County Sports Commission (OCSC), a countywide coalition of destination marketing organizations and community partners united to book and promote sporting events, announced that the Anaheim Convention Center Arena will be hosting the international Men’s Volleyball Nations League (VNL) from July 4-9, 2023. VNL puts Anaheim on the global stage as it hosts these athletes who will ultimately be playing in the Paris 2024 Olympics and then in Anaheim during the LA 2028 Summer Olympics at Honda Center.

The world’s best players will clash as their teams vie for this year’s ultimate prize. Anaheim will be hosting week 3 of the preliminary phase by welcoming USA, France, Argentina, Cuba, Iran, Serbia, Germany, and Bulgaria.

“Orange County hosts several volleyball tournaments year-round, across all levels,” said Jay Burress, President & CEO, Visit Anaheim. “While Anaheim is not a beach destination, it is gaining its own reputation internationally as an indoor volleyball destination with the VNL happening at the Anaheim Convention Center this year and then the LA 2028 Summer Olympics volleyball events happening at Honda Center.”

Of the 150 meetings, conventions, and events confirmed at the Anaheim Convention Center this year, 18 are sporting events, contributing $70 million in economic impact to the local community. Sporting events like the VNL are vital to the community, projected to bring 20,000 attendees resulting in an economic impact of $2.5 million. VNL also brings tremendous social and cultural value to the destination. Volleyball is the 4th most popular sport in the world to play and 5th most popular to watch.

“We are excited to showcase the global superstars at the Volleyball Nations League in Anaheim for our fans in America and around the world," said Finn Taylor, CEO, Volleyball World. “American sports fans will have a chance to see the world’s best players and national teams take on Team USA in some of the best international volleyball played anywhere on the globe this year.”

Due to the overwhelming success of the USA vs France match sale, the VNL is thrilled to announce that a wave of additional seats has been released for purchase.
