The city of Anaheim, California, has announced that USA Weightlifting, USA Judo and USA Powerlifting will stage concurrent events in June 2019 at the Anaheim Convention Center.

USA Weightlifting will hold the 2019 Nike National Youth Championships powered by Rogue Fitness June 27–30, an event that crowns the strongest youth athletes in the nation. The event is the latest major weightlifting competition in Anaheim, which hosted the 2017 International Weightlifting Federation World Weightlifting Championships and the 2017 USA Weightlifting American Open Finals.

“It’s great to come back to Anaheim,” said Pedro Meloni, USA Weightlifting director of events and sponsorships. “It was a beautiful setting for our events in 2017 and we can’t wait to get back.”

USA Judo will hold its Junior Olympics National and International Championships June 28–30. The junior competition is USA Judo’s largest junior tournament, attracting about 1,300 athletes.

“USA Judo is thrilled to be partnering again with USA Weightlifting in hosting a national event simultaneously,” USA Judo CEO Keith Bryant said. “We experienced joint success when we did this in 2017 and coming together again in Anaheim is going to be another great experience for both USA Judo and USA Weightlifting members alike.”

Meanwhile, the 2019 USA Powerlifting California State Championship will also be held at the convention center June 29–30.

“We’re excited to return to Anaheim in collaboration with USA Weightlifting and USA Judo and can think of no better place for the 2019 USA Powerlifting California State Championship,” USA Powerlifting Executive Director Priscilla Ribic said. “It’s a great opportunity for powerlifters from across our state to compete at a high-caliber meet alongside weightlifting and judo athletes. Lifters will be competing for the title of California State Champion and we’re very much looking forward to running a great event that raises the bar yet again.”
