The Day Of The Dead-Inspired Restaurant Refreshes Food Menu, Introduces New Mocktail Menu


ANAHEIM, CA (June 7, 2023) – Anaheim’s colorful Day of the Dead-themed Mexican restaurant, Calaca Mamas Cantina, has debuted an array of new traditional Mexican dishes with a twist, from breakfast to dessert. The family-owned, Mexican-fusion concept also launched their first ever mocktail menu, featuring five refreshing and sophisticated beverages. 

“After celebrating Calaca Mamas’ first full year in business, we are excited to shake things up and add some new yummy offerings to the menu, from breakfast to dessert,” said Mariam El Haj, founder and owner. “We’re thrilled to share our new creations, including delicious and bright mocktails for our whole familia to enjoy!”

Calaca Mamas’ additions to the food menus include: 

  • Concha Breakfast Sandwich: housemade concha, sunny side up egg, queso chihuahua blend, baby arugula, garlic aioli served with tater tots
  • The Stacked Nacho: corn tortilla chips, queso chihuahua blend, creamy mostaza sauce, avocado mousse, cilantro, micro marigolds, jalapenos 
  • Quesabirria Tacos: Oaxacan crusted corn tortilla, soft shredded beef birria, avocado mousse, onions, cilantro, consome served with rice and choice of frijoles charra or refritos negros 
  • Local Line Caught Fish: achiote marinated fish, avocado salad, charred tomatillo salsa
  • Love Me Churro Sundae: vanilla ice cream, chocolate sauce, dulce de leche, churro, whipped cream, cherry
  • Booze Me Up Cafe: coffee, baileys, fig and vanilla house-infused reposado tequila, and cinnamon




The restaurant’s existing bar program, expertly crafted by mixologist TJ Majeske, displays an astonishing list of over 20 original cocktails and margaritas, including the ‘Churro on Ice,’ made with fig and vanilla house-infused Reposado tequila, Licor 43, lime, agave, and cinnamon sugar, and the ‘Spirit Guide,’ made Mezcal, Luxardo, Green Chartreuse, lime, and a torched lime. The beverage menu also features a comprehensive list of wine, beer and spirit selections, which have also been refreshed as part of the menu evolution. The most notable additions to the beverage menu include the launch of the entirely alcohol-free mocktail menu, featuring upscale booze-free beverages such as:

  • Forgotten Grapefruit: organic grapefruit, organic lime juice, organic agave syrup, a pinch of salt, and soda water
  • Tias Surprise Lemonade: organic blueberries, organic basil leaves, organic lime juice, simple syrup, and soda water
  • Blushing Maria: organic strawberry, organic lemon juice, organic mint leaves, orgeat, sprite, and soda water
  • Tropical Slushy: Calaca Mamas’ own mix of pineapple, coconut milk, and agave
  • House-made Horchata: organic house-made oat milk horchata with cinnamon
