August 23, 2024 – Anaheim, CA – For the fourth year, Anaheim’s historic Packing District and Eco Now will host “Mother Earth Market,” (MEM) a mindfulness event. The full day of eco-conscious activities and vendors will take place on Sunday, September 22, from 10am until 3pm along the shaded boardwalk and green at Farmers Park – 412 S. Anaheim Blvd, Anaheim, CA.

Ecologically-themed events like MEM exist to provide awareness, resources and inspiration to a rising population of like-minded people who are becoming more sensitive to their environmental impact on the planet. “It's time to stop blaming corporations and government for the damaging effects on our planet,” urges Thea Pauly, founder of Anaheim’s first zero-waste shop, Eco Now. According to CalRecycle, annually, California’s trash is 45 times as heavy as the Golden Gate Bridge, 2.45 million trees worth of white office paper is used and 7.27 billion meals worth of food waste goes to landfills.

MEM’s multi-layered community experience aims to disrupt old habits. To kick off the event, at 10am, esteemed yogi, Tracy Bui, will guide a yoga flow & sound bath session. From 11am to 3pm guests can shop, play and discover sustainable alternatives at the eco-marketplace. While supplies last, those who bring small sealed containers can fill up on free samples of products like shampoo, conditioner and toothpaste at Eco Now Upcycle Booth. Kids’ fun includes an upcycled crafting station hosted by Child Creativity lab, which will welcomes donations at MEM of soda can tops, plastic bottle caps, corks and Chobani yogurt cups for their STEAM program.

Starting at noon, Eco Now will host one of their wildly popular clothing swaps, and Tom Pauly will share worm wisdom by offering a free compost workshop at 1:30pm.

This year’s MEM logo, illustrated by artist, Sara Haase, echoes, “We Can Do It!” Thea Pauly encourages, “as consumers, we have the power to change the world.”
