Great Wolf Lodge Kicks Off the Spooky Season with Month-Long Howl-O-Ween Celebration

Family Favorite Fall Festivities to Take Place Oct. 1 - Oct. 31

CHICAGO (Sept. 14, 2021) – Great Wolf Lodge is ringing in the spooky season with the unBOOlievable kick-off of its annual Howl-O-Ween celebration, running October 1, 2021, through Halloween. Families looking for fun and safe ways to celebrate this year’s holiday traditions will discover Great Wolf Lodge’s seasonal festivities were designed to get everyone into the Halloween spirit. This year’s events include the Trick-Or-Treat Trail, The Thrill of Howl-O-Ween Yoga Tails, Monster Bash Dance Party and Critter Cartoons art class, just to name a few.

As families enter Great Wolf Lodge, they’re transported through a spooktacular portal and into the Grand Lobby, decked out with fall leaves, pumpkins, and festive décor. Select resort lobbies will even feature sprawling, larger-than-life creatures of the night made entirely of balloons! One of the family-favorite Howl-O-Ween events is the Trick-Or-Treat Trail, where kids collect candy at stops throughout the resort and meet Great Wolf Lodge characters dressed in their Halloween best. The trail commences in the grand lobby with a final chance for guests to grab goodies, including the Teal Pumpkin trick-or-treat stop that features non-food treats for those with allergies. Families continue the journey through a friendly witches’ lair, cave of creatures, goodies in the graveyard, monster mayhem laboratory and conclude at the Howl- O-Ween selfie station to capture the special quality family time moment. As families navigate the trail, they will be given swag and candy along the way. To allow for physical distancing, guests will be required to sign up for the trail and be given an allotted time to explore.

Other highlights of Howl-O-Ween include:

  • Monster Bash Dance Party: Kids can get out their jitters before bedtime and enjoy Halloween songs that will make them move their funky bones.
  • UnBOOlievable Story Time: To help kids get into the Halloween spirit, they’ll get to enjoy a not- so-frightening tale featuring the Great Wolf Lodge characters.
  • Grab ‘N Go Howl-O-Ween Arts & Crafts: Great Wolf Lodge is offering a collection of pre-packaged arts and crafts projects that families can complete on their own either in the comfort of their room or at one of the physically distanced tables in the lodge. Fun projects include a bat hat, spider headband, ghoulish bracelets and key chains, Halloween coloring sheets, buttons, and Halloween masks.
  • Howl-O-Ween Mini-Events: Boo Bingo where five in a row is a bingo and yelling “boo” is the winning lingo. Take a Wiley Guess will challenge families on their knowledge of Halloween myths, legends, lore, and traditions. Wiley Says, like Simon Says, but with some hauntingly delightful moves that will won’t raise the dead but will definitely raise everyone’s spirits.
