NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF MUSIC MERCHANTS (NAMM) RETURNS TO ANAHEIM;
BRINGING $77 MILLION TO LOCAL ECONOMY

Visit Anaheim’s June Event Bookings Will Generate $186 Million in Economic Impact and
$2 Million in Tourism Occupancy Tax (TOT) Revenue for the City

ANAHEIM, Calif. (June 2, 2022) – Booked by Visit Anaheim, the official destination marketing organization for Anaheim, The National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) will return to the Anaheim Convention Center from June 3-5, 2022. This year’s convention is estimated to generate nearly $77 million in economic impact for Anaheim and Orange County while supporting more than 26,000 local jobs.

In June, Visit Anaheim’s 17 meeting, event and convention bookings will produce the largest TOT (tax generated revenue for the city) in a single month since 2019. Following NAMM there will be three additional citywide conventions taking place at the Anaheim Convention Center, including popular fan convention VidCon.

“With some of Visit Anaheim’s largest conventions taking place in June, the community and the economy will be feeling their presence in a positive way with nearly $186 million projected to be spent by attendees while in town for the month,” said Jay Burress, President & CEO, Visit Anaheim. “This also translates to $2 million in TOT tax revenue for the city, positioning our entire destination for a strong start to the summer.”

An Anaheim staple, NAMM is one of the largest trade associations in the country with over 10,000 member companies from over 100 countries and regions representing a community of companies that manufacture, distribute and/or retail music and sound products.

Typically held annually in January, this will be the first time in the show’s history that it will take place in June, providing attendees an opportunity to experience a new side of Anaheim.

In addition to the economic impact The NAMM Show brings to Anaheim and Orange County, The NAMM Foundation also makes significant contributions to the community. Over the years, The NAMM Foundation has donated more than $75,000 to Anaheim schools to provide students the opportunity for a well-rounded education that includes music.
