Hilton Anaheim and 18 Additional Anaheim Hotels Signal the Return of Safe Travel with Confirmed Reopening Dates

ANAHEIM, Calif. (May 5, 2021) – In celebration of National Travel and Tourism Week, Visit Anaheim, the official destination marketing organization for Anaheim, is proud to announce in the second quarter of 2021,19 Anaheim hotels, including Orange County’s largest, Hilton Anaheim, are reopening. After a yearlong closure for many properties, Anaheim hotels are seeing an increase in demand with Disneyland Resort’s reopening on April 30 and the expected reopening of the California economy on June 15, including the resumption of conventions.

“From new luxury hotels opening in the midst of a pandemic to iconic family-owned properties weathering the storm of a yearlong closure, our hotels are resilient,” said Jay Burress, president & CEO, Visit Anaheim. “We know our industry’s recovery will take several years, but this summer will be a welcome start for our hotels as key attractions like Disneyland Resort, Angel Stadium and the Anaheim Convention Center begin safely welcoming guests again.”

Notably 12 Anaheim hotels reopened in April, five hotels will reopen in May and two properties are set for June, including the grand opening of The Westin Anaheim Resort. The reopening of Anaheim’s hotels indicates the return of safe travel and signals the local tourism industry is prepared to rebound.

“The re-opening of businesses in our community is another great example of the resolve and perseverance within the people that make up the hospitality industry in Anaheim. We are thrilled to welcome our guests back on May 20th to the Hilton Anaheim, as we celebrate the re-opening of our doors for the first time in thirteen months. As the largest hotel in Orange County, a “flagship” property for both the Hilton Brand and within the resort campus, we have activated and are fully committed to Hilton’s Clean Stay® and EventReady by CleanStay® programs. Safety is our number one priority and we are dedicated to ensuring guests receive both the highest levels of hospitality they expect from Hilton, while taking comfort in knowing that all protocols and safety measures within these fantastic programs are fully implemented for both guests and team members alike,” said Shaun Robinson, General Manager of the Hilton Anaheim.

As the travel and hospitality industry continues to rebuild, Visit Anaheim will continue showcasing the importance of tourism throughout the month of May during California Tourism Month. Tourism remains a vital part of the local economy, providing jobs for hundreds of thousands of local residents and making significant contributions to tax revenues that support city services and programs.
