September 13, 2023 – Anaheim, CA – For the third year, Anaheim’s historic Packing District will host “Mother Earth Market,” (MEM) a mindfulness event. The full day of free eco-conscious activities and vendors will take place on Saturday, September 23, from 10am until 3pm along the shaded boardwalk and green at Farmers Park – 412 S. Anaheim Blvd, Anaheim, CA.
Cohosting the 2023 pop-up market is SEED People’s Market, a co-op-style shop with a flagship store located at OC’s original “green” retail campus, The CAMP in Costa Mesa. Complimentary community yoga will kick off the festivities at 10am, instructed by world-renowned yogi, Kumi Yogini. The eco village opens for business 11am-3pm with a carefully curated selection of “products with purpose” from over 20 brands, such as Indo Sole’s casual footwear made from upcycled tires, Utu’s environmentally-friendly skincare and Generous Herbs’ native seeds.
"Clothing swaps are a great alternative to buying new. It’s a sustainable and affordable way to connect with community,” says Reyes Baca, a popular lifestyle influencer and organizer of the clothing swap at Mother Earth Market. Guests can level up their personal fall fashion collections by bringing up to 10 pieces of clothing to swap. This year, new to the event is Black Vintage Vinyl’s record trading post, where guests can leave-a-record to take-a-record. Two Green Bird Anaheim neighborhood cleanups will give visitors a chance to feel uplifted at 11am and 2pm. Accompanied by Packing District’s resident DJ, Crisanto Santa Ana, Long Beach reggae singer, Ms. B. Royal, will set the atmosphere with good vibrations throughout the day.
Sustainable presentations include Hikerkind’s “7 principles that National Park Service Outline” at 11:30am and Eco Now’s zero-waste living tips at 1:45pm. “The talk of sustainable solutions is over, where there was once conversation, now resides action. Our community is full of businesses and resources to sustain people and the planet. At Mother Earth Market, patrons can learn about these resources, meet the people driving these modern companies and solutions, and grow their eco-friendly skills. Mother Earth Market is more than a shopping experience, it's a way of life,” shares Thea Pauley, founder of Eco Now and co-creator of MEM.
