The Angels head into 2026 with plenty of optimism. With a new coaching staff and offseason additions, including more starting pitching depth, late-inning bullpen experience, and a stronger everyday structure to bolster the young core of talented position players, the Halos look to prove themselves in a tough division.

For travelers, casual fans, and die-hard supporters planning a visit to Angel Stadium, this season promises plenty of action and excitement, plus one of the most packed theme-night and giveaway calendars in the league.

The Core Lineup: Angels Players to Watch in 2026

Shortstop Zach Neto continues to shine with his defensive range, power, and consistency, making him one of the most exciting young position players to watch in the league. Coming off his second consecutive 20/20 season (home runs/stolen bases), this young Angels star is sure to grace MLB’s weekly highlight reels.

Future Hall of Famer Mike Trout remains the face of the franchise and is expected to make his return to center field. After reaching 400 career home runs last season, fans are excited to see more major milestones and historic feats from the beloved Angels great!

Behind the dish, Logan O’Hoppe remains central to the club’s core of rising stars. Over at first base, expect Nolan Schanuel to continue showing off his glove work and affinity for RBIs and extra-base hits. In the outfield, Jo Adell returns with his power and speed, which earned him the 2025 Angels Most Valuable Player title.

New addition Josh Lowe (from Tampa Bay) gives the Angels another athletic, left-handed outfielder with strong defensive value. Yoán Moncada returns to the team as the primary third baseman, while Vaughn Grissom slots in as a utility infielder who can move between second and third. Jorge Soler will also factor heavily into the DH position as a power bat.

Projected Pitching Rotation and Bullpen for 2026

Pitching is everything, and a good, healthy rotation will drive the Angels’ 2026 ceiling. As of February, the projected starting rotation includes the following hurlers:

  • Yusei Kikuchi: A veteran left-hander expected to open near the front of the rotation
  • José Soriano: A power arm who showed top of the rotation potential
  • Reid Detmers: Shifting back into a starting role after relief success
  • Grayson Rodriguez: A major trade acquisition with top-of-rotation stuff
  • Alek Manoah: 2022 All-Star ready to prove himself after returning from Tommy John surgery

The bullpen adds recognizable late-inning experience with players like:

  • Jordan Romano: 2x All-Star with a closer background, likely to see plenty of ninth-inning opportunities
  • Kirby Yates: 2x All-Star and experienced reliever with plenty of swing-and-miss action
  • Drew Pomeranz: Veteran relief pitcher and World Series Champion
  • Robert Stephenson: Former first-round pick with an impressive slider and high swing rate
  • Ben Joyce: A homegrown power arm who owns the fastest pitch ever recorded in college baseball and projects as a potential late-inning weapon

There’s no fixed closer entering the 2026 season, however, Romano and Yates both carry closing résumés, so early performances will likely decide the pecking order!

Welcome Back, Kurt Suzuki! The Angels Announce a New Manager for 2026

Leadership changes will shape how this 2026 roster functions day-to-day. Beloved Angels veteran catcher Kurt Suzuki has stepped into the manager role for 2026, and his young energy and long-standing connection to the team are expected to guide his strategy and decision-making!

His background as an on-field strategist suggests a strong emphasis on pitcher–catcher coordination, platoons, defensive positioning, and old-school “small-ball” play. Suzuki has surrounded himself with a coaching staff boasting a mix of veteran coaches and Major League talent, including Pitching Coach Mike Maddux, Bench Coach John Gibbons, Hitting Coach Brady Anderson, and First Base/Outfield Coach Adam Eaton.

What to Eat and Drink at Angel Stadium in 2026

Brewery X Restaurant at Angel Stadium is a top food-and-drink anchor inside the ballpark, pouring local craft brews alongside standout items like the BX Burger, Pub Pretzel, and rotating hot dog menu, themed to align with the on-field series.

For signature ballpark comfort food, go straight for the carne asada nachos in a helmet, the chopped BBQ brisket mac and cheese bowl from Crafty Mac & Mash, or the burger and shake from Big A Burger, all of which feel bigger and more satisfying than standard concession fare. Fans who want something spicy should look for the Nashville hot chicken tenders and sandwiches at Strike Zone Chicken, then add an order of classic garlic fries to share.

Finish up your feast with Cathy’s Cookies or a delicious Walk-Off Waffle, topped with strawberries or s’mores fixings, for a proper late-inning dessert!
