Mickey Visit's HalloweenItinerary
The Halloween celebration is a popular time to visit the Disneyland® Resort, with spooky decor, special entertainment, attraction overlays, themed foods and merchandise, and more included with your park ticket. The fun, spooky atmosphere during this time of year makes a visit to the parks extra memorable.
This year, Disneyland® Resort’s 70th anniversary celebration is running during Halloween, so you can enjoy some of the seasonal entertainment and anniversary offerings at the same time! We always recommend three days as the perfect amount of time to experience all of the highlights at Disneyland® Resort—two at Disneyland® Park and one at Disney California Adventure® Park. Our Mickey Visit 3-day Disneyland itinerary for park touring details how to approach your park days so that you can enjoy all of the rides, dining experiences, and special entertainment offered during this time of year.
At Mickey Visit, we frequently visit the theme parks to bring you all of the latest Disney news and helpful planning resources for your vacation. Today, we are partnering with Visit Anaheim to share how to plan your trip to experience all of the Disneyland® Resort Halloween highlights! Be sure to also check out our Disneyland® Resort planning guide here on Visit Anaheim.
Disneyland® Resort Halloween 2025 Overview

Halloween at Disneyland® Resort runs from August 22 through October 31, 2025, providing a pretty generous window of time to plan your visit. October tends to be one of the busiest months of the year at Disneyland® Resort, so if you want to avoid the biggest crowds, we recommend consulting our Mickey Visit Disneyland Crowd Calendar for crowd level projections each day of the year.
During the Halloween celebration, the after-hours Oogie Boogie Bash parties take place at Disney California Adventure® Park on select evenings. As you are planning your trip, make sure you are aware of event nights, as the park will close early at 6 pm on these Oogie Boogie Bash 2025 dates. On these party nights, we recommend making your park reservation for Disneyland® Park, or if you have a park hopper ticket, you can hop over to Disneyland® Park in the evening.
You can read more overview details of Halloween Disneyland® Resort on our Visit Anaheim page.
Day One at Disneyland® Park

We recommend arriving early in the morning for “rope drop,” when Cast Members drop the ropes blocking off the access points to the various lands at park opening. Utilizing our Mickey Visit Disneyland morning strategy, you can get on several popular rides with minimal wait times. We recommend rope dropping Haunted Mansion Holiday, as wait times quickly skyrocket during the day for this popular holiday overlay. Make sure to start booking your Lightning Lane Multi Pass return times in the morning as well! Especially if you’re visiting during the crowded month of October, it’s important to utilize our expert Disneyland Lightning Lane Multi Pass tips to make the most of this line-skipping service.
In the afternoon, at lunchtime, make sure to try some of the limited-time Halloween foods available in the park. The seasonal foods are a highlight of this celebration, with returning fan-favorites like the delicious Bulgogi Beef Toasted Sandwich at Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe and Pumpkin Spice Mickey-shaped Beignets at Mint Julep Bar, as well as dozens of exciting new items. We recommend using our Mickey Visit Disneyland Halloween foods printable to look ahead at all of the foods and mark the ones that are of interest.
Make sure to take a midday break so you can rest up for the evening entertainment! A big reason why we recommend staying at a hotel within walking distance of Disneyland® Resort is so that you can easily take a midday break to go for a swim in the pool or take a quick nap.
If you’re visiting on a day when the Halloween Screams show has fireworks, we recommend planning to watch this on your first night, so that just in case the fireworks are canceled due to windy conditions, you can see them on another day of your trip. You can see our guide to Disneyland® Resort fireworks for our favorite viewing spots and tips! If you are interested in an extra special experience that includes reserved viewing for this show, you may want to consider booking the 2025 Happiest Haunts Guided Tour.
Day Two at Disney California Adventure® Park

For your second day at Disney California Adventure® Park, we recommend using our Mickey Visit Disney California Adventure® Park morning strategy to rope drop all of the major attractions in the morning. Make sure you ride Toy Story Mania!, which has some special 70th anniversary additions, including higher-value targets during the celebration!
In the afternoon, you can explore some of the quick-service Halloween foods at Disney California Adventure® Park, or plan for a sit-down meal at one of our top Mickey Visit best Disneyland® Resort restaurants. Our favorite, Lamplight Lounge, has some seasonal Halloween offerings at its main location and Boardwalk Dining!
Take some time to explore the Plaza de la Familia offerings at the park, celebrating the spirit of Día de Los Muertos. You can enjoy limited-time foods and crafts, add a remembrance note to the Memory Wall near the Mexican Árbol de la Vida (Tree of Life), and watch “The Storytellers of Plaza de la Familia Celebrate the Musical World of Coco!” show.
If you’re with little ones, make sure to check out the interactive, scare-free “Mickey's Trick and Treat” show at the Disney Theater in Hollywood Land. On the flip side, if you’re traveling with teens or an adult group, the spooky Guardians of the Galaxy - Monsters After Dark overlay is a must-do experience! The attraction switches to the overlay each day at 2 PM.
Make sure you don’t miss Cars Land all lit up with spooky decor in the evening! This is a good time to ride the two Halloween overlays, Luigi's Honkin' Haul-O-Ween and Mater's Junkyard Jamboree. Or, if the wait looks short, you can hop in the Single Rider line and enjoy a nighttime ride on Radiator Springs Racers. Then, end your night by watching the World of Color Happiness! show.
Day Three at Disneyland® Park

On your third day, we recommend spending the morning at Disneyland® Park to repeat your favorites or experience anything you may have missed during your first day here. This is a good day to check out the Halloween merchandise in stores and enjoy some of the 70th anniversary offerings, like the Key to Disneyland® Resort scavenger hunt that unlocks special effects across the lands of the Park and the 70th anniversary MagicBand+ interaction points with some fun freebies. This would also be a good time to snap a picture with Mickey and friends in their cute Halloween costumes on Main Street! Keep your eye on the Disneyland® Resort app for character appearance times.
Then, we recommend leaving the park to enjoy a brunch or dinner experience at one of Disneyland® Resort’s seasonal character dining offerings. There are three options to choose from, including “Goofy’s Kitchen Celebrates Halloween!” for breakfast, brunch, or dinner at the Disneyland® Hotel, “Mickey’s Autumn Adventures Breakfast Buffet/Brunch” at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel® & Spa’s Storytellers Cafe, or the new “Clarabelle’s Enchanted Halloween Dinner” at Storytellers Cafe.
If you’d rather check out the options in Downtown Disney® District for lunch, many of the restaurants have special seasonal food and drink offerings during the Halloween celebration, including some of our favorites like Céntrico and Naples Ristorante e Bar.
In the evening, we recommend enjoying some of the 70th entertainment offerings! You can watch the Paint the Night parade, then end your night by enjoying the Tapestry of Happiness projection show on the facade of “it’s a small world.”
