USA Volleyball Donates $200,000 in Sports Equipment to Anaheim High School Students

Three-time Olympic Gold Medalist Coach Karch Kiraly, USA Volleyball Athletes and City Officials Come Together in the City of Kindness to Give Back to Local Athletes

 

WHAT:  On Friday, March 24, USA Volleyball donated 4,500 pieces of sports equipment totaling $200,000 to Anaheim High Schools to support training the next generation of superstar athletes. The donation includes completely outfitting volleyball and running student-athletes (girls and boys) with 3,800 pieces of new apparel and gear including game jerseys, tank tops, practice warm-ups, jackets, knee pads, plus 700 pairs of shoes.

 

WHY:  USA Volleyball is the national governing body of volleyball in the United States. Anaheim has been the official host city to the U.S.Men’s National Volleyball Team since 2006 and the U.S. Women’s National Volleyball Team since 2009. Recently the organization entered into a new contract with Sports Anaheim, a division of the city’s destination marketing organization, through 2020. Today’s events are part of the organization’s mission to give back to Anaheim’s community and thank them for welcoming USA Volleyball athletes to the City of Kindness.
