Over 450 Partners Challenged to Join the Cause at Visit Anaheim’s Annual Meeting

ANAHEIM, Calif. (Dec. 20, 2022) – Visit Anaheim, the official destination marketing organization for Anaheim, announced at their annual meeting that Visit Anaheim’s charitable program, Visit Anaheim Cares, will be participating in Welcome Home, a program spearheaded by local nonprofit Caterina’s Club. The Welcome Home program remedies motel living by raising funds to provide families with the push they need to get out of a motel and into an apartment or condo.

Caterina’s Club partners with Mercy House and Illumination Foundation to identify the families, provide necessary case managing, financial advising, and eventually the first/last months’ rent and deposit due at move-in. In addition to covering the move-in cost, Caterina’s Club collects donated furniture, appliances, and other home goods to jump-start these families’ new lives.

To date, the Welcome Home program has successfully relocated 255 families and Visit Anaheim Cares as well as its partners look forward to increasing that number in 2023.

“Giving back certainly puts you in the holiday spirit, but in Anaheim giving back is such a central part of our destination’s ethos year-round,” said Jay Burress, President & CEO, Visit Anaheim. “Giving back to the community has always been part of our mission and is something we continue to prioritize.”

Visit Anaheim’s primary mission is to positively impact its community through the power of travel. Visit Anaheim Cares was created to centralize those efforts. To-date Visit Anaheim Cares has opened an emergency homeless center and spent hundreds of volunteer hours in the community.
